The synthesis is accomplished in two stages. This paper describes a speech synthesis system which is particularly suitable for experimental investigations. The location of the peak of the contour for each word in the utterance is then adjusted to fall at the location of the primary stress. This paper describes the development and evaluation of syllable-based Indian language Text-To-Speech (TTS) synthesis system (around festival TTS) with ORCA and NVDA, for Linux and Windows environments respectively. Since Indian languages are syllable centred, syllable-based concatenative speech synthesizers are built. Given that India is a multilingual country (22 official languages), a uniform framework for an integrated text-to-speech synthesis systems with screen readers across six Indian languages are developed, which can be easily extended to other languages as well.

A participatory design approach was followed in the development of the integrated system to ensure that the expectations of visually challenged people are met. This paper describes the integration of commonly used screen readers, namely, NVDA and ORCA with Text to Speech (TTS) systems for Indian languages. Our result analysis demonstrates that with denoising and spell checking, our model has achieved an accuracy of 98.11% when compared to 84.02% without any denoising or spell check mechanism. Additional improvements are made to improve the quality of text extraction and post processing spell check mechanism are incorporated for this purpose. This is followed by text extraction with the help of OCR engines. As an initial step, deep learning techniques are constructed to denoise the images that are fed to the system. In this paper, we employ various strategies for the entire process. A comprehensive review of the available literature shows that very little intensive work was done for image to speech conversion. Added to this, we find that these audiobooks are only meant for fictional stories, novels or comics.
